When to go to Morocco.

Month by month, and why.

Morocco has no bad month, only places that are wrong in a given month. With nowhere ruled out: April, May, September and October.

Month by month.

January

We usually leave out the Atlas, because the Toubkal trails are under snow. M’diq is out of season: Tamuda Bay is a summer coast and the marina largely closes out of season. Possible, but less ideal: Chefchaouen, because the Rif is cold and wet midwinter.

April

May

June

We usually leave out Merzouga, because the deep Sahara runs past 45C in high summer. Possible, but less ideal: Taghazout, because the Atlantic swell drops off over the summer.

July

We usually leave out Merzouga, because the deep Sahara runs past 45C in high summer, and the Agafay, because the stone desert is punishing in midsummer. Possible, but less ideal: Taghazout, because the Atlantic swell drops off over the summer; and Oualidia, because the lagoon fills with Moroccan holidaymakers in August.

How we use this.

These are the rules the planner applies when it builds your trip: a month you choose can move a place off your route, and the plan tells you which and why. Ramadan moves every year, and we tell you plainly if your dates fall in it.

See the trip built from your answers.

Thirteen questions, a few more if others are coming. You see your route and its price before you give us anything, and the day by day opens with your name and email.
